VIVAT ACADEMIA!
Educational institution “Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine” celebrated its 95th Anniversary.
The events started with international scientific and practical conferences, visits to museums, exhibitions, various master classes. The opening of the memorial plaque to Professor Veremey Eduard Iosifovich at the Department of General, private and operative surgery took place. There Was carried out the Action “Memory”.
To celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Academy of Veterinary Medicine on November 1, 2019, the Concert hall “Vitebsk” hospitably opened its doors. The solemn ceremony began with the sounds of fanfare performed by the Military orchestra.
Traditionally, the rector of the Academy Mikalai Haurychenka, opened the official ceremony and made a report:
“Dear teachers, employees, students, graduates, veterans, dear guests! The rector of the Academy has the honor to congratulate You on the 95th Anniversary of the Vitebsk “Badge of Honor” State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and the 110th Anniversary of the Agricultural College of the Academy!»
Mikalay Ivanovich run a fascinating tour inro the history of the Academy of Veterinary Medicine from the moment of the idea of establishing a Veterinary Institute in Vitebsk to innovations and achievements of recent years.

Looking back, we gratefully remember those who stood at the origins of higher veterinary education in the Republic of Belarus, created scientific schools, fought for the safety of livestock, bred new breeds of cattle and introduced new technologies in the livestock industry of the country, taught and educated future specialists, many of whom became the pride of our Academy.
Far outside the country are known the names of such prominent scholars as S. S. Abramov, I. G. Arestov, Arnoldov M. A., A. D. Balzamentov, G. Y. Belkin, D. D. Butjanov, S. N. Vyshelessky, K. D. Valushkin, V. Y. Wolferz, V. M. Voskoboynikov, E. I. Veremey, H. S. Goreglyad, N. A. Gorsky, Y. G. Hubarevich, V. K. Gusakov, I. Y. Demidenko, O. A. Ivanova, I. M. Karput, N. F. Karasev, P. A. The Academy carefully preserves and develops the traditions that have been developed due to their activities.
The rector called the teaching staff to be the Golden Fund of the Academy and continued that with special warmth graduates addressed Yatusevich Anton Ivanovich, Maximovich Vladimir Vasilyevich, Kuzmich Rostislav Grigoryevich, Shlyakhtunov Vladimir Iosifovich, Medvedsky Vladimir Aleksandrovich, Kholod Valery Mikhailovich, Prudnikov Victor Sergeevich, Babina Maria Pavlovna, Medvedev Alexander Petrovich, Matsinovich Alexey Aleksandrovich, Olekhnovich Nikolay Ivanovich, Rubanets Leonid Nikolaevich, Razumovsky Nikolay Pavlovich, Bratushkina Elena Leonidovna, Zenkova Nadezhda Nikolaevna, Makaruk Mikhail Arsentyevich, Motuzko Nikolay Stepanovich, Siniytsa Nikolay Vladimirovich, TolkachNikolai Grigoryevich and many, many others.
A Cordial gratitude was expressed addressing scientists and teachers as a glory of the Academy.
The Academy is proud of its graduates. Over the years, the Academy has trained more than 40 000 specialists, agricultural College – more than 21 000. They successfully work in all regions of the Republic of Belarus and abroad and do not lose touch with the Alma mater, which was their happy student time. Thank to graduates, the Academy today is widely known not only as a forge of professional veterinary personnel, but also as well-known leaders.
Thanks to such outstanding teachers and scientists, many graduates of the Academy became known not only in the Republic of Belarus. The list of graduates who glorified the Academy is long:

Mikalay Ivanovich Haurychenka finished his report with remarkable words:

Thanks to creative work, loyalty to professional duty, responsibility for the fate of the native Academy, our many thousands of employees, teachers, students, students and graduates feel joy, pride, and an extraordinary sense of belonging to the creation of the glorious history of one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the country.

As part of the event, the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolay Sherstnev read out the congratulations from the President of the Republic of Belarus and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and presented the awards of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus – Director of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision Smilgin Ivan Ivanovich read a congratulatory address and presented awards of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.
Alexander Mikhailovich Subbotin, doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agro-industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission congratulated the Academy on behalf of the Board on Industry and Agro-industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Vladimir Alekseyevich Samsonovich, the head of the Main Department of Education, Science and Personnel of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, read out a welcome address from the Ministry of Education and held an award ceremony.
Many acknowledgements and wishes of success in research activities and training of specialists received the Academy on that day from all corners of Belarus and many countries from abroad, and all of them said “Vivat Academia, Vivant professores!”
And now we are looking forward to the 100 Anniversary of the Academy keeping traditions, setting down innovations!
