Learning languages we study our Motherland
On December 12, 2019 at the Department of Foreign Languages there was held a student scientific and practical conference «My small homeland».
The language course is closely related to the study of the history, culture of the country of the studied language. And of course, first of all, one should constantly learn the history, culture and language of ones own country. The concept of information environment is widely used in the course of studying language disciplines. That allows a learner to hear, see, and «feel» the information. Such an environment helps to form and develop language and communication competencies, as well as develops creative abilities of students, increases motivation to study, promotes civic and Patriotic education of young citizens of their country. Participants of students scientific societies and individual students are involved in the development of teaching materials on the disciplines of the Department. Visualization makes the perception of information more complete, multifaceted, and students have the opportunity to realize their skills in modern information technologies as well as improve their foreign language competence.
For the conference, first-year students prepared interesting multimedia projects on the theme «My small homeland». The projects were developed and presented in foreign and Belarusian languages.
When preparing projects, the authors widely used their own skills of searching and processing information, found on the Internet and shot videos themselves, translated the material into foreign languages or Belarusian. The speakers made reports about the capital of our country, large and small cities of Belarus and even about a very small village Uzanovichi, which is located in the Volozhin district.
The works turned out to be different in terms of complexity, saturation and method of presentation of the material, but all the projects were interesting and informative.
And what is the most important thing that each participant demonstrated be means of the project is love for the Small homeland, love for our Motherland.
