The President of the Republic of Belarus A. G. Lukashenko met on July 15 with the asset of the Vitebsk region
The key topics raised by Alexander Lukashenko were working and living conditions, salaries, wages, and pensions.
There were also discussed the development and success of the agricultural sector in the Vitebsk region.
The President of Belarus notes that the country has done a lot over the past years, but there is still a lot of work ahead.
The President noted that all areas of regional development have been identified, starting from unpromising villages, farms, agro-towns, to district and regional centers. “We have indicated the direction in which we will develop. And the next five-year plan will be dedicated to this small homeland. We need to raise the regions, make people feel the same in the agro-city as in Minsk, and then they would have more desire to live in the agro – city.
The President noted that both in the whole country and in the Vitebsk region there is positive advance in agriculture. “Even from a helicopter, you can see that this year the whole Republic differs. But I am happy with the Vitebsk region. We started working well, cultivating the lands and fields. And the yield is not bad – ” Alexander Lukashenko said. – Whatever it takes, we need to step up, not looking at any elections, to harvest the bread. The elections will be over, and you will still have to eat after August 9. And we can’t lose this year. It is very significant for the Vitebsk region”.
However, the President warned that harvesting , especially in the Vitebsk region, given the agro-climatic features of the region, will not be easy. “On the field, as the Governor said, more than 1 million 300 thousand tons of bread. And this bread should be taken and made at least 100 thousand tons of reserve in the Vitebsk region,” the Head of state said.
