PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS OF THE VITEBSK STATE ACADEMY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE IN THE NEW YEAR BALL
On December 29, 2020, the Belarusian New Year Ball was held in the Palace of Independence in Minsk. 314 young people were honored to become participants of the celebration. These are the best out of the best representatives of our students. Each of them, at a fairly young age, has already achieved significant success – in their studies, creativity, sports, and social life. Among them are winners of National and Regional Olympiads, competitions and authors of innovative projects.
The President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated young people in the Palace on the upcoming New Year and noted: “This evening is not just a festivity, but a journey to the origins of traditions. By the way, this is one of the traditions that we are reconstructing. There can be no state without traditions. Around these traditions, the desire of our people for their statehood and independence has been born and strengthened over the centuries. After all, what is statehood? First of all, it is the people’s awareness of the historical right to be the owner of their land, a sense of ancestral connection with generations of different eras, an understanding of how the national character and mentality of modern man was formed.”
The educational institution “Vitebsk Order” Badge of Honor “State Academy of Veterinary Medicine” at this event was represented by:
- Anna M. Rodchenko (5th year, group 2, BTF);
- Ekaterina G. Andreeva (4th year, group10, FVM);
- Ilya A. Katarin (3rd year, group 21, FVM);
- Nicholay S. Fialkovsky (3rd year, group 3, FVM SSPVO).
The participants prepared for such a large-scale event very carefully and responsibly. The ball participants had to perform the compulsory dance program: waltz, padecatre, padespan, padegrass, padepatiner and midnight quadrille. Young ladies and gentlemen seemed to be transported several centuries back, when our ancestors held such celebrations and social receptions on a grand scale.
At the ball there was created the atmosphere of nobility and beauty, a very special, magical one, a time seemed to have stopped its course… This wonderful memory will surely remain with everyone who was lucky to attend the event.
