21 September – Unified Security Day
The Unified Security Day has been held in Belarus since 2018 at the initiative of the State Secretariat of the Security Council. The reason for its holding was the tragedy at the mall «Winter Cherry» in Kemerovo (Russia), where 60 people (37 of them were children) died and 79 were injured as a result of a fire in 2018. The tragedy occurred because of the lack of organization of the alert, the absence of evacuation of visitors during the fire. As a result, there was a stampede in the building, and the closed evacuation exits deprived people the last opportunity for rescue.
The head of the Department of Production Technology and Animal Husbandry Mechanization V.N. Podrez held a meeting of the department in order to carry out the plan of preparation and holding of the Unified Safety Day. Vitaly Nikolayevich drew the attention of the staff to the importance of information in case of emergency situations, behavior during a fire and natural disasters, other emergency situations and orientation in evacuation routes.
Senior lecturer Lantsov A.V. informed the staff of the department and demonstrated the rules of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on the mannequin «Alexander – 01», showed the selection and use of filtering gas masks GP-5 and GP-7, recalled the rules of fire safety, location of fire extinguishers and principles of their use.
In case of emergency situations, the rules and ways of evacuation from the FPD building were brought to the department staff as well as all employees and students of the academy.
