One Open Day at an Educational Institution
«Vitebsk Order «Badge of Honour» State Academy of Veterinary Medicine»
On March 23, 2024, the Academy held a large-scale vocational orientation event – Open Day, which was attended by 331 students of general secondary and secondary special education institutions from all over the country. The event was also attended by potential applicants from the Russian Federation – Smolensk. The largest number of schoolchildren was noted from Vitebsk and the regions of the Vitebsk region – Novopolotsk, Senno, Liozno, Ushachy, Sharkovshna, Rossony, Braslav.
Registration of the participants began at 9:30 in the Academy’s House of Culture. Those who came were welcomed by volunteers who offered guests sweet treats with hot tea from Russian samovars. The students got acquainted with the exhibition of literature of the Academy employees, presented in the hall, and traditionally photographed with Aibolit for memory. A contact zoo was organized for the children. Members of the Canine Association of the Academy «White Fang» held demonstration performances with the participation of our smaller brothers.
After registration, the guests were invited to a solemn part in the concert hall of the House of Culture, where they were welcomed by the rector of the Academy N. I. Gavrichenko. Yushkovsky E.A., the dean of the faculty of veterinary medicine, told in detail about the faculty. Biotechnology faculty was presented by the dean Vishnevets A.V. The executive secretary of the admission commission Solyanchuk P.V. told about peculiarities of admission to the academy.
In front of pupils and their parents were representatives of the client organizations: the head of the sector of organizational and personnel work Sosnovskaya E.G., the head of the department of organizational and personnel work of «Vitebsk Meat-Processing Plant» Rozhansky D.Y., the head of the personnel department of «Polotsk dairy complex» Novikova L.I., specialist in the selection of personnel of the Glubokoe agro-industrial association Yerkina T.I., as well as the specialist of the department of agriculture and food of the Khoyniki District executive committee Sachenko Y.A. and the personnel inspector of «Sudokovo» Braim N.V. In their speeches, the speakers noted the high level of material support for young professionals, Working in the conditions of the agro-industrial complex of our country, as well as presented a wide range of preferences for persons who have concluded contracts on specialized training of specialists.
During their attendance on the campus of the Academy, pupils, teachers and parents had the opportunity to communicate with the deans of the faculties, academics, staff of the admissions committee and ask questions.
The most active and kind-hearted participants of the Open Day according to the good tradition of the Academy presented «fluffy gifts» in the form of rabbits.
Then, under the guidance of the employees of the department of international cooperation, career guidance and pre-university training, professors and volunteers of the academy followed 12 excursion routes, where they visited the museums and departments of our institution of higher education. Visitors were also able to visit hostels, where they were acquainted with the living conditions of students.
We are sure that visitors to the Open Day of the Academy will add confidence to the guys in determining the future professional choice!
