TEACHER’S DAY AT THE PALACE OF THE REPUBLIC
October, 1 Teacher’s Day is celebrated in the Republic of Belarus. This professional holiday is designated in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of March 26, 1998 «About state holidays, public holidays and commemorative dates in the Republic of Belarus», and has its history since the existence of the USSR.
On the eve of the event in Minsk festive events were held on the main national square in the Palace of the Republic. There teachers, teaching work veterans and young professionals were honored.
Deputy Chief of Administration of the President V. B. Pertsov read a congratulatory address from the Head of State A. G. Lukashenko. Education Minister A. I. Ivanetz congratulated the teachers on the professional holiday, emphasizing the important role of the teacher in solving public tasks and training the real citizen and patriot of our country.
The festive concert dedicated to Teacher’s Day was filled with bright creative performances that presented talented young people of our country. The performances of distinguished collectives and famous Belarusian artists of the Republic of Belarus gave everyone present in the hall a festive mood and unforgettable emotions. Special gift for the guests of the concert was a performance by an honored artist of the Republic of Belarus Ruslan Alechno, who performed both his hits and new compositions.
