INTERUNIVERSITY EXCHANGE AND INTERDEPARTMENTAL COOPERATION IN WORK
Practical-oriented training of the students of the academy was once again in the laboratory of VSMU. Students of the 5th FVM course during a 4-hour class on epizootology and infectious diseases have thoroughly studied and mastered in practice modern methods of diagnosis of infectious diseases, such as polymerase chain reaction, full genome sequencing, and the release of the pathogen on cell cultures, immunohistochemistry and a number of other techniques. Students trained skills in the use of personal protective equipment for handling pathogens of different biological hazard classes, studied biosecurity approaches, biosafety and equipped laboratories for handling pathogens. The sampling of biological material has been tested.
Already next week our academy starts to admit students from VSMU for conducting classes and exchange of experience in parasitology, infectious diseases, normal and pathological anatomy, surgery and a number of other disciplines.
