The Detachment of Extramural Education of the «Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine» has been launched on February 14, 1959. Its history is a chronicle of formation and development of the higher extra mural agricultural education in the Republic of Belarus. Since then the detachment has trained over 10500 highly qualified specialists for agrarian sector of the economy. Specialists graduated from the faculty keep working in all spheres of agro-industrial complex, many of them having become famous people.
Currently more than 2000 students are enrolled for the extramural studies for two specialties:
- «Veterinary Medicine», qualification – Veterinary Medicine Surgeon;
- «Zootechnics», qualification – Zooengineer.
Course duration for training at the regular course of studies makes 6 years for «Veterinary Medicine» and 5 years 5 months for «Zootechnics».
Besides, we admit students for the reduced term of studies for the specialty of «Zootechnics», which makes 4 years (for graduates of vocational college).
Two affiliations located in Pinsk and Rechitsa accept students for training in the specialties of «Veterinary Medicine» and «Zootechnics».
